Professional Newborn Photography: Why the Fuss?
Smile. Click. Repeat. Multiple times a day. If you own a mobile phone, you own a powerful inbuilt camera. And you probably take many photos a day. So, the question is: why invest in professional newborn photography? What’s the fuss? Why not just point and shoot yourself? Or get a mate to do it?
3 Reasons to Invest in Professional Newborn Photography
While there are many reasons to invest in posed newborn photography, let me outline just three.
#1 Safety and the assurance of working with a professional.
You may not know this, but the number-one priority in the newborn photography industry is safety. It makes good sense if you think about it. Working with a newborn infant is certainly not child’s play.
A professional photographer is not just well-trained and experienced in the art of photography itself, but they’re also well-versed in handling and posing newborns, and all the dynamics related to safety first. Check out my own commitment to safety on my 7 Safety-First Policies page. Knowing you’re in competent hands allows you to enjoy the experience yourself. That alone makes professional newborn photography worth considering.
#2 Memorable, iconic newborn images.
It goes without saying that anyone can simply snap away with a camera. Getting those iconic newborn images that are so popular, however, requires both skill and experience. Those sleepy, curly poses don’t happen by themselves! They’re the product of time and practice. The result of a skill perfected over many, many hours. If you dream of getting beautiful iconic newborn images of your little treasure, make a quality decision. Invest in posed newborn photography with a professional.
#3 Printed, framed and mounted images.
I read an article that claimed the average person will take 25,000 selfies in their lifetime. Wow! That’s a heap of photographs. If the average person takes as many pictures of others as they do of themselves (and the chances are they do, especially if they have kids!), we’re talking truckloads of photographs. Question: how many of those will actually get printed let alone framed or mounted? Very, very few.
And I think we’re worse off for it. Desks without photographs, mantelpieces without pictures, and walls without framed memories.
Of course, if you’re going to invest in printed, framed or mounted images, then you want images of the best quality. Yes? Then don’t leave it to chance. Get in touch with a pro.
In all my time as a professional photographer, I’ve yet to meet anyone who regretted investing in professional newborn photography. But I have met my fair share of those who regret not doing it.
